360
360 View
The 360 View in Composition Mode places the camera in the user's place. It provides a first glimpse of the final rendering of the experience.
3D
3D View
The 3D View in Composition Mode allows a free movement of the camera in the virtual environment.
A
Aspect
An aspect is the visual or sound representation of an element.
Example of an aspect for an image element: The calling button for an elevator has two aspects: grey (stopped elevator) and green (called elevator).
Example of an aspect for a sound element: A car is running but suddenly the driver brakes. So, you first hear a running car and then a braking sound. Therefore, the sound element has two aspects (two sounds): “running” and “braking”.
Aspect (initial)
The aspect of an element at the beginning of the experience.
C
Cartesian data
Cartesian data is used to display the coordinates of elements and aspects in the virtual environment. The system also allows positioning of elements and aspects.
Composition Mode
The Composition Mode allows scene enrichment using item editing. The Composition Mode is used to position the elements in the virtual environment.
Conditional
Conditionals enable the user to interact with the elements of an experience by defining conditions and consequences. For example: if the user clicks the gray button, then the button turns green.
Conditions
Conditions can be used for the construction of "Conditionals", deadlines and events. They define the conditions necessary to perform a user action.
If [Trigger] | | Then[Consequence(s)] |
And if [Condition(s)] |
Consequences
Consequences are used for the construction of "Conditionals", deadlines and events. They define the consequences of a user action.
If [Trigger] | | Then[Consequence(s)] |
And if [Condition(s)] |
E
Element
Elements are the objects that make up the scenes. They can be of several types: image, sound, video, text, spritesheet, trigger and 3D mesh (in the premium 3D version).
Elements column
The elements column contains all the elements added to a Scene. It is present in "Composition Mode" and "Scenario Mode". Each scene has its own elements column.
Event
Events are the conditionals of the Event tool (see below).
Event tool
The event tool enables you to manage the temporality of a scene using a timeline and by editing events.
Experience
The experience is the final result produced by Speedernet Sphere. In a Speedernet Sphere experience, the user moves between and within scenes and interacts with items in those scenes.
Export
The export window enables you to export your project into a finished experience. Exporting a project generates a folder that contains all the elements needed to host the experience for viewing.
H
Home
The central screen of Speedernet Sphere which summarizes the scenes of the experience and which allows the addition of scenes.
M
Media
Media are used to be associated with a scene as a panorama, or associated with an element as an aspect.
Media (existing)
An existing media is a media already present in the project via the Media Manager (see below).
Media Manager
The "Media Manager" tool makes it possible to manage all the media of the same project. It represents the media library of a project.
O
Opacity
This feature enables you to manage the transparency of the item, or aspect, in the virtual environment.
P
Panorama
The Panorama is the visual support of a scene. Generally, a panorama is either a 360 image or video.
Panorama (360 image)
A panorama of type .jpg or .png
Panorama (360 video)
A panorama of type .mp4
Point of view
Points of view enable you to define the user view when entering a scene.
Position
The position of the element, or the aspect, in the virtual environment.
Preferences
Preferences allow to set a certain number of options and access certain information, in order to better adjust Speedernet Sphere to the needs and habits of its users.
Project
A project is a Speedernet Sphere experience when it is still being edited in the software.
Properties
The Properties are the parameters of elements (aspects and states). The "Properties" tool is the tool used to define these parameters.
R
Rotation
The "Rotation" tool allows the movement of an element or aspect around its axis in the virtual environment.
S
Scale
The Scale enables you to manage the size of the element or aspect in the virtual environment.
Scenario Mode
The Scenario Mode allows scene enrichment using element editing. Scenario mode provides a schematic representation of the elements and their conditionals in a scene.
Scene
The scenes represent the different chapters, sequences or places of an experience.
Scene (initial)
The scene where the experience starts.
State
States are the characteristics of an element. These characteristics depend on the type of the element.
State (initial)
The state of an element at the beginning of the experience.
State – Interactivity
The state characteristic of the elements that defines whether the element is interactive (clickable or not).
State – Playback
The state characteristic of the elements which makes it possible to define if an element plays once, plays in loop, is in pause or does not play (stop).
State – Visibility
The state characteristic of the elements that defines whether the element is visible or not.
T
Trigger
Triggers are used for the construction of "Conditionals", deadlines and events. They are defined by a click, the end of a video/sound/animation, a change of state or a change of aspect.
If [Trigger] | | Then[Consequence(s)] |
And if [Condition(s)] |
Not to confuse with trigger elements in the “add element list”.
V
Virtual environment
The virtual environment is the representative space of the final experience that positions the elements. It is composed of two modes of views: "360 View" and "3D View". It is linked to the "Composition" mode.
Volume
The volume of the element, or the aspect, in the virtual environment.
W
Work plan
The Work Plan gives a schematic representation of the scene with bubble-like elements and conditionals. The Work Plan facilitates interactive scenario creation and understanding of the conditionals between elements. The Work Plan is linked to the Scenario mode.
