Did you know that in your 3D scenes, Sphere lets you position the sun at any time of the day? Have you ever thought to put your user in a situation even closer to reality?
This indeed gives you the freedom to design your 360°/VR experience down to the finest details.
As you well know, in Sphere you can generate a dynamic sky as a panorama, if your 3D universe doesn’t require a panorama in the background for example.
By default, Sphere will generate a dynamic sky if you don’t put a 360° panorama into your scene.
It’ll therefore be regulated to generate a sky with the sun at its peak (i.e. noon).
How to modify the position of the sun according to the time of day?
I propose you watch this video below which explains this feature quite simply:
As you’ve seen in the video, to modify the values of the sky, you simply:
- Click on the parameter gear next to your scene
- Then “Define a background“
- And finally change the values assigned by default
Here are some examples of useful values:
- Put 6am to generate a sunrise
- Put 12pm to put to sun right above you
- Put 6pm to generate a sunset
- Put 12am to simulate night without sun
Now you know how to set your background parameters to generate a dynamic sky in Sphere!
Looking forward to reading your comments and discussing with you! 👨💻👩💻😃
See you soon in the next tutorial! 🙂
