To add a 3D mesh to your scene, in the Add Element tab, click "3D Object" .
The 3D mesh is displayed on the stage with a pictogram representing the latter .
In the right column, rename the item.
To set the aspects and states of the item, click the icon .
A window opens and allows from the "Define media" button, to select and associate a media with the 3D Object element.
Note: Remember to add the 3D media in the "Media Manager" of the project and then add them using the "Existing Media" button.
When an item is inserted, it is visible in its properties window. You can replace it using the "Set Media" button.
Sphere is equipped with what we call a glTF animation mixer. The latter allows you to import one or more glTF animations of your 3D object and then configure their readings.
You can access the glTF animations from the "PROPERTIES" window of the 3D object, by clicking on the icon in the "ANIMATIONS" section
On this window, click the "Add glTF Animation" button at the very bottom. In the next window, select the aspect of the element you are targeting then scroll down the list in the "Animation mixer" and select the glTF animation of your choice.
To learn more about how to animate a 3D object, I invite you to read this article.
A 3D mesh element is characterized by one or more aspects and one or more states. A tab in the window is dedicated to each of them.
Aspects
The appearance of a 3D object is its visual representation.
The 3D object element can have several aspects depending on the intended interactions.
For example, in your scene, you have a briefcase placed on a desk. This case is closed at the start of the experience and opens following a programmed interaction. So, the briefcase has two aspects (visual representations): an open briefcase and a closed briefcase.
The blue flag indicates the initial appearance of the item at the start of the experiment.
To add a new aspect, click on the "Add aspect" button in the "ASPECTS" section and then import the media (the 3D mesh) related to this aspect using the "Define Media" button.
Note: For 3D mesh elements, the preview of the latter is not displayed in the thumbnail of the "PROPERTIES" window. Only the software logo appears in the thumbnail. You can find the added 3D mesh in the scene.
States
A state characterizes the element in two ways:
- its visibility,
- its interactivity
- Its manipulation
- Its highlight
When you add a 3D object element in the "REPORTS" section, two states "Visible" and "Invisible" are proposed by default. You have the possibility to modify and adapt them according to your needs.
To meet the needs of your interactive scenario, the visibility and interactivity of your element can be multiple. A button may have a "Not clicked" state, for which it will be visible and interactive for example. After being visited, it may (if the scenario awaits it) become invisible for example. To add a report, click on the "Add a report" button.
The blue flag, as in the panorama list, is used to set the default state of the element.
